Jessie Ruckel has spent over 30 years in residential appraisal—and she's seen it all.

She started as a staff appraiser at Charter One Bank in Ohio in 1991 (the year licensing laws were first implemented), working her way through field appraisals, review teams, and educating lenders on the appraisal process. After nearly 15 years with the bank, she launched her own appraisal and consulting firm, earning her SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute in 2007.

In 2013, Jessie relocated to Austin, Texas to lead Appraisal Shop, helping grow it into the largest residential appraisal firm in Central Texas. But she saw a gap: clients loved the service but needed that same quality across the entire state.

​

So in 2019, she founded iappraisal - a Texas-based, appraiser-focused AMC built on principles most companies had abandoned: high-quality reports, real communication, and treating appraisers like partners, not vendors.

​

Today, iappraisal serves lenders, AMCs, and builders across Texas, with licenses in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Florida. The company has built a panel of over 800 appraisers—organically—through referrals and recommendations based on competency and reputation.

​

Jessie is actively involved with the TMBA (Texas Mortgage Bankers Association), chairing the local affiliates committee, serving MBA chapters across Texas including Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, West Texas/Lubbock and South Texas/Rio Grande Valley.  Austin Board of Realtors (ABOR), Association of Texas Appraisers (ATA), Appraisal Institute. She's FHA-approved and VA-authorized.

A graduate of The Ohio State University (Fisher College of Business) with a B.S. in Business Administration focusing on Real Estate and Urban Analysis, Jessie lives in Austin with her husband, Collin. When she's not working, you'll find her hiking and enjoying the Texas outdoors with family and friends.
